Information technology is a thankless job. In 2022, lawyers have high expectations of the technology that has further commoditized their profession and brought the legal practice into their living rooms. Better tech means more efficiency and higher expectations for associate productivity—a source of stress unto itself for many midlevels. When that tech stops working or falls short of expectations, you’ll hear about it.
Looking at the responses we received to questions on firm-provided technology and training, tech support, technology from the client perspective, and firms’ ability to support remote work, two firms illustrate the difference between positive and negative perceptions of law firm technology.
