Bury family business hits Northwest award ceremonies | Bury Times – Bury Times

A family-run business has been nominated for three awards just months after they won their last one.
Legacy Pets, Bury has been nominated for three additional awards just months after it won the Made in Manchester Team of The Year Award.
Jodie Reeve, marketing manager at Legacy Pets, said, “We are up against some really big companies.
“Being a small family-run business in Bury, it is a lot to take in, especially going up against big corporate companies, but it is so exciting!”
The company is up for two categories at the Greater Manchester Business Awards, where winners will be announced at a ceremony on September 2.
Their first shortlisted category for the awards for being an ‘Innovative Business in Covid-19’, which will be presented to an organisation that has changed and innovated its business throughout the pandemic.
For this award, judges will be focusing on examples of success and innovative ideas for their business as well as future innovative ideas for their business.
Jodie said: “We did a lot for the community during covid.
“Our business grew from strength to strength and I feel like that is because people were spending more time with their pets, and it makes them realise they want the best for them.”
The second shortlist nomination is for the ‘Manchester Business Award’, for an organisation which is passionate about its city and its people. Judges will be focusing on examples of how they include their passion for Manchester in their business.
After receiving the nomination news, Jodie said: “We are overwhelmed by it, we did not expect it at all. They are really prestigious awards, and we are so surprised.
“We won the Made in Manchester Team of The Year Award in February this year too!”
Legacy Pets has also been nominated at the Northwest Business Masters Awards, on November, 10, where they have been shortlisted for the Fast Growth Business.
The company are also due to open up a new showroom in Bury on August, 27.
Jodie said: “We are all so excited all it is all snowballing at once, we have so many plans for the future so much happening.
“Our jewellery and keepsakes Showroom will have its grand opening soon in  Bury and we are hopefully trying to get a celebrity guest down to help us with it.”
Legacy Pets was originally set up following the death of their family cat, Barney, in 2011.
It took over two weeks before his remains were brought back to them when he was put down by the local vet.
The family discovered that Barney had been cremated only three days prior, and was left wondering, where Barney had been all that time.
As the family’s dog, Maggie, reached her 14th birthday, the topic of preparing for her passing brought memories of their past experience.
As a result, they vowed to honour her with a dignified cremation, in her home town of Bury.
Legacy Pets say this is why they have been able to recognise the need for a compassionate, local pet cremation service that offers bereaved pet owners the peace of mind that their pets will be treated with the utmost respect.
