Buzz Oates proposes 100000-square-foot biotech facility in Davis – The Business Journals

A 107,612-square-foot biotech facility has been proposed in Davis.
According to documents submitted to the Davis Department of Community Development and Sustainability, Sacramento real estate development and investment group Buzz Oates is proposing to build a biotech and advanced manufacturing building at 3808 Faraday Ave.
The document states that owners of the property are in talks to build the facility for a tenant that is currently operating in Davis, is looking to expand and would like to stay in Davis. The document doesn’t name the potential tenant. Logan James is managing the project for Buzz Oates, according to documents. James did not respond to a request for comment.
If negotiations fall through with that tenant, however, documents say Buzz Oates intends to move ahead with building the facility on a speculative basis.
According to real estate intelligence firm Reonomy, the 8-acre property is owned by Pac West Diversified, which is affiliated with Buzz Oates.
The proposal anticipates the project is consistent with the property’s zoning.
The proposed project is next to a number of other advanced manufacturing and biotech facilities, including Schilling Robotics, which announced in May that it’s expanding into the 71,000-square-foot office building next door at 3805 Faraday Ave., which is also owned by a Buzz Oates affiliate.
The property site is neighbors with a building occupied by DMG MORI Manufacturing USA Inc., a machine tool manufacturing company.
The property is also just down the street from a cluster of agricultural technology companies along Cousteau Place, including Arcadia Biosciences Inc. (Nasdaq: RKDA), HM Clause and BioConsortia Inc.
