GAME DAY! Field Hockey Headed to Hamilton – Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Athletics – RPI Athletics

FIELD HOCKEY (1-1; 0-0 Liberty League)
The Engineers began the season with a 1-0 win over Hartwick before losing to Geneseo on Saturday (3-0). This week includes three road games beginning on Tuesday at Hamilton (6pm). They then play at Brockport on Saturday (4:30pm) and at Keystone on Sunday (12pm)

WOMEN’S SOCCER (0-1-1; 0-0-0 Liberty League)
RPI made its debut on Thursday with a contest against Oneonta, which the Red Dragons won 2-0, and then traveled to New Paltz on Saturday, where it tied 0-0. The Engineers continue to face SUNY opponents on Wednesday at Plattsburgh (4pm) before traveling to Cortland on Saturday (1pm).

MEN’S SOCCER (0-1-1; 0-0-0 Liberty League)
A game at No. 23 Montclair State on Thursday yielded a scoreless draw before RPI played its first home game on Saturday, which ended in a 2-1 loss to UMass Boston. This week’s action includes another pair of games, both on the road beginning on Wednesday at Manhattanville (6pm) and continuing on Saturday at Plattsburgh (6pm).

MEN’S TENNIS (0-0; 0-0 Liberty League)
Rensselaer is coming off a season in which it tied the school record for wins in a season (16-3), won the Liberty League Championship and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament. The 2022-23 season starts with a tournament at home on Sharp Courts that begins on Friday and includes a variety of schools, all Division I foes.

WOMEN’S TENNIS (0-0; 0-0 Liberty League)
RPI advanced to the Liberty League Tournament Semifinals last season and concluded the campaign with a 13-8 record, which tied the school mark for single season victories. A trip to the Union Invitational in Schenectady on Friday and Saturday mornings starts the 2022-23 season. The event is a two-day affair.

GOLF
The season begins with a two-day tournament at Middlebury this weekend. Action in the Duke Nelson Invitational takes place on Saturday afternoon and concludes on Sunday morning. Last season, Rensselaer was the runner-up in the Liberty League Championship Tournament, just missing out on an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
After picking up a season-opening win in a meet that included the College of Saint Rose and Russell Sage on Friday, Rensselaer stays local, heading to The Crossings of Colonie for the Siena College Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning at 9:45am.
WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
Following a season-opening win over Saint Rose and Russell Sage, the Engineers turn their sights to the Siena College Cross Country Invitational, which takes place on Saturday morning at the Crossings of Colonie (10:30am)
No. 22 FOOTBALL (1-0; 0-0 Liberty League)
RPI hosted Dickinson last week and upended the Red Devils 14-7 at East Campus Stadium. The Engineers, who are No. 22 in the latest national pool, are home again on Saturday, this time against Carnegie Mellon at 1pm.
