The latest coronavirus figures show there have been 12 deaths in the county this month so far. The statistics show deaths within 28 days of a positive test.
This comes as mandatory masks make their return at hospitals in Gloucestershire. The rule change comes as Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has updated its covid-19 rules due to "an increase in the number of" positive test results.
All patients, staff and visitors must wear masks in all adult inpatient areas at Cheltenham General Hospital and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, a statement reveals. However, masks are not mandatory in non-patient facing areas, children’s and maternity inpatient wards and outpatient areas, the trust has confirmed.

The latest figures released by Public Health England released on Thursday, September 22 show a total of 464 new cases recorded in Gloucestershire in the past seven days. This brings the total number of cases in the county to 206,551 since records began.
Cases broken down in Gloucestershire from the past seven days are as follows:
England as a whole has recorded 289 deaths within 28 days of a positive test in the past seven days. This brings total deaths since records began in the country to 166,228.
However Public Health England report that this week has seen a 24 per cent drop compared to the previous seven days. With 93 less recorded than the week before.
In Gloucestershire three people have sadly passed away with Covid-19 in the past seven days.

There were 5,142 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 21 September 2022.
Some people in the hospital need to use a special device called a mechanical ventilator to help them breathe. There were 145 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 21 September 2022.
Deaths in England – Between 11 September 2022 and 17 September 2022, there have been 289 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows a decrease of -24.3 per cent compared to the previous seven days.
