Leading global law firm Baker McKenzie announced today that Cynthia Cole, an experienced intellectual property, technology transactions and privacy lawyer, has joined the Firm. She will be based in the Palo Alto office.

Cynthia joins the Firm from Baker Botts, where she was a partner and served as Deputy Department Chair of the Corporate Section in the Palo Alto and San Francisco offices. She focuses her practice on IP, strategic, and technology transactions; data privacy and cybersecurity. She advises clients across industries including technology, retail, communications, social media, energy and healthcare / life sciences. Cynthia has deep experience in complex cross-border, IP and data-driven transactions. A former general counsel and CEO, she also acts as outside general counsel to a number of executive teams and boards of directors.

With more than 20 years of experience, Cynthia has the skills and sensitivities to lead intellectual property and tech-centric transactions and counselling matters. “We are thrilled to have Cynthia join our tech transactional team,” said Leif King, head of Baker McKenzie’s Transactional Group in California. “She is an established and accomplished lawyer who will immediately provide us with the depth of knowledge we need in the technology transactions space.”

Cynthia earned her BA from the University of Utah and her JD from Northwestern University School of Law.
