Penn State also moved ahead of Pittsburgh, with the Panthers tumbling 11 spots to No. 25 after their overtime loss to Tennessee.
Alabama remains on top of the coaches poll this week, although the gap in first-place votes was cut significantly after a close call at Texas on Saturday. Alabama received3 9 first-place votes while Georgia made up ground at No. 2 with 25 first-place votes. No. 3 Ohio State received one first-place vote.
No. 5 Michigan and No. 9 Michigan State are the only other Big Ten teams in the Coaches Poll this week. Texas A&M took the biggest drop within the top 25 by falling from No. 6 down to No. 22 after a home loss to Appalachian State. Notre Dame fell out of the top 25 from No. 8 after a home loss to Marshall. The Irish, now 0-2, are eighth in the others receiving votes category.
