A vigil for Callum Riley will take place this Friday (23 September) at 6pm at Darnhill Library in Heywood.
Callum sadly died in Heywood on Saturday morning (17 September) and a police investigation into his death is ongoing. A number of suspects remain in police custody for questioning.
The vigil has been organised by Jenny Kennedy, who said: “This is to give our whole community a place to grieve, especially our youth. I want the youth to feel loved and cared for and I also want the community to come together in their grief to show its okay to be not okay.”
Anyone attending is asked to lay flowers or bring balloons for release; neon bright colours are requested.
Paying tribute to Callum, his mum said: "Callum was a strong and caring young man, loved so deeply by his family, friends and his girlfriend.
"His love for his mother and his brothers was immeasurable. A lovely lad, with a good heart, protective of his family and always the best of intentions. Stolen away from us far too young in life. He will be forever missed, and remembered with love. Life will never be the same again.
"As a family we ask for the respect and privacy whilst we come to terms with this huge loss in our lives."

His dad said: "Callum was a much-loved son, brother and uncle. He was a loving, caring young man who never failed to make us laugh. He will be sadly missed by us all. In death as you were in life: unforgettable."
Heywood fundraising group Restoring Hope is collecting donations towards Callum’s funeral.
