Three Rochdale men have raised around £2,000 for the Rochdale Children’s Moorland Home after completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge.
Wesley Dowd, Keith Hook and Matthew Brett completed the 24-mile challenge in 10 hours and 13 minutes on 4 September in aid of the local respite facility.
The trio – joined by their dogs, William, Shyla and Finley – raised donations through local businesses.
Wesley said that due to the cost of living crisis, he didn’t want to ask the public for money.
The Rochdale Children’s Moorland Home at Nab Farm in Wardle acts as a respite for children from disadvantaged families as well as offering a week’s holiday for disadvantaged children. Providing the children with an excellent environment to improve their social skills, this quite often the only opportunity that these children have for a holiday.
The Rochdale Children’s Moorland Home has been contacted for comment.
