UK storm forecast: Charts show heatwave to spark lightning and rain across Britain – maps – Express

The north of the UK is likely to see storms and wet weather as the hotter-than-average continues. Charts show lighting storms blanketing Scotland and the majority of the north of England as well as Northern Ireland and Wales next week.
Netweather reports that storms are likely to begin to appear next Wednesday, August 10, and carry on into Friday, August 13, when rain will begin to affect the southwest of the country.
The storms are predicted to be heaviest around the northwest of England and parts of Scotland beginning on Wednesday next week.
The news could come as a relief as parts of the country implement hosepipe bans following the driest July in 20 years.
The maps show that the southeast of the country will be largely dry, at least until Friday – worsening near-drought conditions there.
