15-year-old kid shot on Syracuse's Near Westside

A youngster kid was shot Saturday evening on Syracuse's Near Westside, police said.

The shooting was accounted for at around 2:47 p.m. in the 200 block of Fitch Street, 

Syracuse police representative Lt. Matthew Malinowski said.

Police found the 15-year-old kid shot in the leg, Malinowski said. 

He was taken to Upstate University Hospital, where he is supposed to get by, he said.

The ShotSpotter framework got five shots, as per Onondaga County 911 Center dispatches.

Police put five proof markers before a home on Fitch Street.
